Window in Oaxaca is an interpretation of a window I have walked by dozens of times. It’s very close to the small pensiόn where I stay when I’m in Oaxaca. The building itself is definitely in disrepair like many structures in the city, but the broken glass in this exact shape sparked my imagination. Taking artistic license, I juxtaposed the nearby Basilica de la Soledad in the background. The painting includes some of my candid photographs and a strip of car trim I actually found on the street in Oaxaca. Window in Oaxaca brings me back to the Oaxaca I love.
