The Bridge of Lions, built in the mid-1920’s, is a thoroughfare that spans the intercoastal waterway from the Historic downtown of St. Augustine to Anastasia Island with details that reflect St. Augustine’s distinctive architecture. The two awesome Medici lions made of granite and named Faithful and Firm guard the west end of the bridge. They are without a doubt—iconic to the city. In 2015 two other lions named Peace and Happiness were added to guard the east entrance.
