RBG Torchbearer

RBG Torchbearer is Marsha Glazière’s tribute to public figure Ruth Bader Ginsburg whom she admired and respected for her relentless pursuit for gender equality and women’s rights that sought justice for all with strength and integrity. Glazière felt the Statue of Liberty which depicts the Roman Goddess Libertas ideal for her many accomplishments and character. The roots comprising her robe represent the kaleidoscope of the American citizenry.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in September 2020. Glazière sent a signed copy of her artwork to Ms. Ginsburg as a symbol of her appreciation for dedicating her life’s work to the pursuit of justice for all with integrity.
